Our cricket products are 100% safe for human consumption as they are specifically farmed with complete traceability. It is important to know, not every insect is safe for human consumption. Please do not pick up insects from your garden to try them out! They can contain parasites or other forms of bacteria harmful to humans.

Yes, in some cases. Crickets are arthropods, just like prawns, crabs and lobsters and they can cause allergic reactions for individuals with a crustacean shellfish allergy. So if you have a crustacean shellfish allergy, you may be sensitive or allergic to crickets.

Crickets have an earthy taste. Some describing the taste as nutty, others say they smell like popcorn. Curious? Why not try for yourself!

Yes. The paleo crowd seem to accept crickets as friendly.

Our crickets are farmed in South East Asia (Thailand & Vietnam) using responsible and ethical farming practices. Cricket farming in this part of the word has been practiced for centuries and offer some of the best quality crickets in the world.

Crickets have a short life span of 6 weeks, so it’s important to us that their short lives are made as comfortable as possible. Crickets naturally like being in a dark and warm place so our farms are created specifically to mimic their natural environment. In our farms, crickets live free range allowing them to hop from feed station to water station. Harvesting the crickets only happens at the end of their life cycle, when the males start chirping.

Our crickets have a very healthy diet. The base of their diet is made up of non-GMO ingredients such as corn, soy, flax, oats and minerals.

Great! If you are interested in trying out insects, a good starting point would be to order Hoppa FREE sample pack. Its 10g of cricket protein that you can use in any of your favourite smoothie or bake recipe to boost nutrition.

Although they both contain 100% crickets, our cricket protein powder undergoes a couple of additional mechanical processes to make it finer for shakes and smoothies. Being slightly more coarse, our cricket baking flour is more suited for cooking and baking.

All orders received before 2 pm AEST (Monday-Friday) are shipping out the same day. All orders received over the weekend are shipped out on Monday.
